    Licensed Professional Counselor

Life can be a rollercoaster ride and there are times when we experience tough times or frustration. Managing those situations and emotions can be challenging. In life we are taught how to do many tasks and skills but when was the last time someone taught you how to deal with the emotions that life brings? My goal is to help you learn to how to identify those emotions and learn how to cope and work through your problems to build your emotional toolbox. There are times when we need someone to talk to who will truly listen without judgment and offer support. That is where I am able to assist. Depending on client preference, I can provide either faith-based or secular counseling.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. In 2009, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. I began my career in case management in 2011. I completed my master’s degree in counseling from Liberty University in 2014 and shortly after began my teaching career while interning for my counseling license. As of now, I am a teacher by day and see clients in private practice in the evenings. I obtained my Ph. D in Psychology at Grand Canyon University in 2020.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, and relationship issues but my counseling focus also includes grief, anger management, career counseling, spirituality, self-esteem, parenting, and family conflict. I work with individuals, families, groups, and couples to provide the space for growth and change, alleviate distress, and offer healing and hope. The types of therapy I provide include Christian Counseling, Coaching, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Culturally Sensitive, Marital, Family Systems, Interpersonal, Relational, and Solution Focused Brief (SFBT). Finding the right therapist is an important decision that is not to be taken lightly. I encourage you to contact me so that we can make decisions together regarding your specific needs and treatment goals.
